His communication skills were great so we were able to discuss a plan for the music and a schedule of events easily. He was happy to contribute ideas when we needed them and his experience was really valuable when it came to pitching ideas and building confidence that we were putting together something that would work on the big day. We were too busy to directly oversee him during the wedding, so it was a relief that he was able to operate well on his own and was a self-starter when problems needed solving or questions came up during the wedding. For example, we gave him a list of requests from our guests for songs and it was an eclectic list of different music genres that would've been impossible to incorporate into a dance set. We left it up to him to pick as many songs as he could from the list but to ultimately prioritize what he felt would work best for the party and the mood of the room. He did not disappoint! The groom is a Grammy winning engineer, and would also like to mention that Doctor Jaz has great sound gear.”

In getting things set-up, he was easy to work with and did everything he could to shoulder responsibilities so that we didn’t have to – like going out of his way to rent extra equipment that we insisted on having. His professional approach and flexible attitude was a huge relief and allowed us to feel completely at ease about the music element. After our first meeting it was clear we would have the badass inter-generational dance party we wanted so badly. Probably the most important qualification for me was finding a DJ that was willing to build on my list of songs, even some that were a little embarrassing but sentimental.
